Where symbols work
Symbols are normal Unicode characters, so they work in WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook posts, Discord and most mobile games. Two things to keep in mind:
- Emoji vs text symbols. Text symbols (♥ ★ ⚔) look the same everywhere. Emoji (❤️ ⭐ 🗡) are drawn differently on each phone.
- Game filters. Some games block certain symbols. If a name is rejected, swap a rare symbol for a common one like ★ or ツ.
Make something with your symbols

How do I type these symbols on my phone?
Most of them aren't on a phone keyboard. Tap the symbol here to copy it, then paste. To save time, add the ones you use most to your keyboard's text shortcuts.
Why does a symbol show as a box?
Your device has no font for that symbol. Updating your phone usually fixes it, or choose a more common symbol.
Can I use these symbols in game names?
Most games accept common symbols such as ツ 亗 彡 ★ ♛. A few block rare or emoji characters, so test in the rename box first.

These are Javanese punctuation marks (pada). They became popular as "wings" around gamer names.
